DON'T READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
This group was founded for the purpose of sharing and collecting the best of the truly unique, strangely beautiful, and wonderfully weird (or just plain odd) art that DeviantArt has to offer. If you have ever been fascinated with the unusual then this is the group for you. This is NOT your classic art group. Also, we do NOT accept:
-- subjects with nudity (unless all the important parts are properly disguised). On rare occasion soft nudity is accepted if the work is truly exceptional,
-- excessively macabre work (surgery, spilled guts, etc) although a little blood is fine.
-- erotic or profane content, so please be appropriate. Anything requiring a mature tag will be automatically declined.
Only submit your own original artwork.
Fanart will only be accepted if done in your own unique style.
A copy of another work will be declined.
Only submit complete works.
This is a high quality group so please only submit your best works otherwise they could be declined.
Strange Places: any work where the center of interest is a place -- strange, foreboding, off-kilter, dream-like, etc.
Weird Robots: unusual mechanical creations; they can be cute and quirky or big and monstrous.
Magical Creatures: Mermaids, Unicorns, Dragons, Fairy folk, anything magical, or mythological, but with a unique twist.
Odds and Ends: anything that doesn't fit in any of the other folders but still deserves the title of unusual.
Spooky Spectres: ghost, zombies, vampires, demons, and underworlders unite!
Curious People: people with unusual appearances or tastes or who are in unusual situations.
Fantastic Monsters: cthulhu, Frankenstein's monster, sea creatures -- release the Kraakens!, elementals, strange pets, the bigger the better.
Dark Literature/Poetry: all forms of writing are accepted and the themes aren't limited to ghosts, as long as it's eerie, spooky, dark, mysterious and, of course, wandering off the beaten path.
Anomalous Aliens: space battles, black holes, aliens, other worlds; fan art is also accepted.
Any submissions that do not follow our guidelines will be declined so please read the rules carefully.
