Algir. The StrigoiOn the fiftieth day after the celebration of Christ's Resurrection, when the Holy Spirit descends with blessing upon the faithful and when the Sun marks the beginning of summer, seven men were gathered in the graveyard behind the church, at the rim of the village throned by the Carpathian mountains.Algir. The Strigoi by HelevornArt
It was past noon and the shadow of the wooden cross atop the church roof was cast on the heath, darkening the grass inside the semicircle where the group stood. All of the seven men were dressed in white attire embroidered with red symbols upon the chest, on the sleeves and on the skirts of their long tunics girdled with wide black belts. Seven men bound as brothers by ritual laws - the Călușari. They leaned solemnly upon the twisted wooden staffs in their hands and, as each of them stepped forward to tell his dream from the night before, the man in the middle of the semicircle interpreted their meanings. He was the leader of the brotherhood, the Vătaf.

Thy ghostly-visage jewel'd deep into my soul
And I became entombed in her velvet-nightfall ...
O’ the Gods hath yield to our insatiable darkness
Black-feathered priests covet the stars above
And far below the pale glow of Moon,
We are beautiful decay in forests of crimson
Our lips undress in the aching firmament; —
Wherest our love must perish in mystery ..
I bathe thee ravenous in whispers of sanguine
Runes spill from the wounds of trees,
As her tongue weaves thru my undead soul
The syrup of Night unmoored, enchants flesh,
Whereof fabled spirits unveil a dark-ballet
(Immortals lost in the perfume of bloodlust)
Yet Insanity ravaged the memoirs of the sky ..
And my lust;—A dagger in the breast of dawn
For I am the ash of a bewailing fairy-tale,
The splendour of necromancy rising
Long did I watch her raven-hair billow softly;
How the winds tease of beauteous death!
Unto worlds end;—we are poised,

The Last Day of October--Bookstore Horror
From the Personal Log of Dr. Meldrek Jellidar Akern
This is a true account of the loathsome horror from beyond the grave I and several others encountered that stormy evening back in October of the year of the Hound. Ever since that ghastly episode, these questions kept turning over in my mind like falling autumn leaves: what horrific force could have possessed that wretched Gentry girl to come back from beyond the Veil, from beyond her final resting place in her land of exile? And what was she trying to do exactly?
Faerie as well as the Underworld had set firm boundaries between the living and those who had passed over the

and as its face whitens with its strangulation
we exclaim at its brightness
We place our wreathes in the darkness,
the shadow lengthened by its absence,
and we talk of its smile lighting up its face.
We in the dark, miss our two-faced tidal moon.
We in the dark, whisper our wonderings
"How could it not hear when we told it we loved it?"
We sit endrenched with the bleakness
stuffing itself into our eyeholes, our mouth gaps,
it presses in on us and we see the galaxy
through the eyes of a lonely satellite;
isolated, a prisoner of the infinite black.
We in the dark, understand the dark ourselves-
